NEXT LEVEL

Here’s some photos from Rimoni of the battle on Saturday. It was a crazy day and testament to how fresh and united the AK city scene is right now. Much love to all the painters, Judges and people that turned up and stayed to the bitter end. It was a very high standard reached by all artists but in the end Askew came out in first place.

adidas Consortium – Rod Laver collection

Friday, August 14, 2009

We are super excited about the release of the latest consortium pack – The rod laver collection. The first four of the collection have been produced  by DQM, UNDFTD, VA and Limiteditions. Once again we are the ONLY stockists of this pack in Australasia and the sizes are super limited so start saving your pennies kids, these badboys launch on August the 18th! And stayed tuned for more exciting collabs in this pack next month…

As the signature shoe of several time world tennis champion, and still legendary George ‘Rod’ Laver, the adidas Rod Laver has been a mainstay for the brand, and now a central part of the Originals range since its 1970 launch. The key to its success? Utter simplicity. In line with court decorum and regulations of the era, the famous 3-Stripes were shorn for this shoe, and the purity of the Rod Laver set something of a standard for sneaker design – the move to pare down the corporate identity and let the silhouette do the talking is a landmark move too. Beyond favourite colour combinations like the traditional white and green, the material mix of leather and mesh kept things breathable and lightweight without compromising looks. This bare bones approach gave the shoe an ageless quality. A follow-up, wider, chunkier in the sole and with added midsole and heel branding became another icon and a worldwide Summer standard, notably deified in NYC as the timeless hot weather choice. Almost forty years after the original design’s introduction, it’s back in a tweaked form, retaining its iconic classicism for an ambitious adidas Originals Consortium project. Nine global Consortium partners, each famed for their innovative approach to retail, were given the Rod Laver to rework with their choice of colours, fabrics and more for release in extremely limited numbers at Consortium stores (more…)

tourettes

YO YO!
Hello everyone
This Friday the 31st of July Scratch 22 from the legendary A.R.C from and Tourettes from Auckland will battle their fear of flying to come perform in your fair city. They will be bringing with them singer Caoimhe from the Drab Doo Riffs who is much braver and only fears sensible things like death and god. They will be performing all of Tourettes’ hits plus 22 will be show casing some of his new solo joints. Wellingtons own Tommy ill will be playing support. You’d have to be a bit stupid to miss this.

Heres the facebook event page…  http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/posted.php?id=98607057980
