The recent ship wreck Rena whose oil spill is affecting the Mount is stable at the moment, but by no means clear of ever present danger.  Currently there are two cranes ships operating daily to carry the load of the dangerously unbalanced wreck, a process which may take up to a year.

 

To help with the clean up effort closer to shore, our mates (and Mount Maunganui locals) Lower have teamed up with their screen printing partners Diffuse to produce this one off S.O.S Tee.  The purpose of the tee is to help raise funds to support the clean up and the work of hundreds of volunteers who have donated their time and safety.

 

With each tee shirt sale, Lower will make a contribution towards the efforts, and LOADED will donate an additional $10.00 to the Care For Our Coast Fund.  These S.O.S. tees are available in men’s and women’s and are available from LOADED High Street and Broadway.

A 1,376 square metre venue located in Shed 1 and 2, 101 Halsey Street in the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village, The PUMA Social Club NZ is a pop-up retail and nightlife venue that will bring the concept of “vintage” social sports – games like darts, pool, foosball, table tennis and pinball – to life. Celebrating the notion of being social, not just online but in real life, PUMA Social is about having fun and being with friends.

The front of The PUMA Social Club NZ will house two 40 foot shipping containers, converted to create the brands first Concept Store in New Zealand. The PUMA Container Store will carry the unofficial uniform for the late-night owl – from that classic PUMA Track Jacket, to the perfect kicks for a night on the town.

When the sun goes down, The PUMA Social Club NZ will come alive, hosting a wide variety of eclectic programming featuring social sport events, music, lounging and all around good times. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, 9pm till late, enthusiasts can enjoy foosball and interactive gaming in the PlayStation® Suite, plus table tennis matches on the exclusive PUMA Aruliden Chalk Table V2.

Designed with the ultimate rec room in mind, The PUMA Social Club NZ has hints of chalkboard walls, raw wood, corrugated steel, neon lights and plush lounge furniture. With a fully-operational cash bar and night time snacks available, guests will certainly never go thirsty and can satisfy their late night munchies. Throughout the six week event, PUMA has partnered with legendary brand Red Bull and New Zealand icon, BurgerFuel, serving guests up their signature burgers alongside the drink that gives you wings.

Highlight events over the course of the five weeks include:

This painting marks the launch of the sister project to Urban Development call ‘Sub-Urban Development’ which is taking place out at this unique West Auckland venue [Corbans Wine Estate]. After a year of negotiation with various parties TMD got the wall legal again on the condition that it will be maintained and a steady stream of interesting collaborations and small events will take place out there. October and November are already looking good with a solid line up of international and local artists making new work out there.
