Twenty years ago it was a pretty safe bet that anyone wearing Cons (especially the cup sole high tops) was a skater. Cons were made as basketball shoes back then but the had the advantages of being both cheaper and easier to get hold off than most of the skate shoes that were around. Fast forward to 2009 and Converse have followed the lead of their Nike, Adidas, and Puma buddies and produced a line made for skateboarding.
