Wellingtonian David Read is an anomaly somewhere between AV club nerd and bogan. He’s a self-disciplined perfectionist who prefers the company of Upper Hutt metal refugees to Welliwood glitterati – though his chameleonic charm ensures he can tete-a-tete happily with either. Ten years ago David birthed Manual Magazine on a wing and many prayers; he’s run it on fumes for 30 issues and counting, expects as much of his own work as his contributors and is consequently New Zealand’s most respected skateboard photographer.
Hello loaded blog…
It seems only appropriate that my first post is a heads up on every party you should go to in the next few weeks if you live in Wellington. They are mostly mine but I dont care. If you went to De la Soul, I was the guy playing before hand. Yup, I was wicked. Anyway check these…
The first is a celebration of my 5 years of residency at the best club in Wellington ‘Good Luck’. Theres gonna be FREE fruity punch and Im probly gonna be mad pissed so if you come say hello, dont be offended if I ignore you, or if you ask for a request you will probly be spat on. Its on the 23rd of this month so see you there!

next up is the latest installlment of our Fried Chicken Sound System (with fellow blogger KAVA) ‘Party n Bullshit’ series down at Good Luck. Expect loads of throw back hip hop, patron and henny thrown about and dry/wet humping on the d-floor. If you dont know…now you know!

More party updates to come!

Most of you in Auckland will know Ollie, whether you’ve seen him in the store, on TV2′s Police 10-7 or at one of the high street bars, the dude is hard to miss! He is loud and annoying but mostly lots of fun and will be sadly missed by the High St crew when he moves down to manage our Wellington store. Good news for all the wellingtonians though and ladies he’s single and as you will see by all the HOT photos of him here he is definitely a catch! We took him out for a “quiet dinner” last night to say our goodbyes…..pics here [Read more...]
